Snaggle-toothed' Dion stuns concert promoters
Singing superstar Celine Dion has stunned concert promoters by demanding her own personal dentist travel with her on tour.
Raising the already lofty bar on eccentric diva demands, Dion has insisted on writing her own medical team into the performance contracts for her current world tour.
The Canadian chanteuse has been paranoid about her teeth since being dubbed "Canine Dion" as a snaggle-toothed teenager in the '80s, New York Daily News reports.
She has since had them capped, reports say.
As well as her private dentist, Dion, 40, also requires a physiotherapist and throat specialist immediately available on call from 7am to 7pm every day.
On stage with her at all times must be 11 security guards, eight of whom will sit on chairs that can swivel 30 degrees.
And Dion won't take the stage without a stock of Bavarian figs and French cherries in her dressing room.
Dion is no stranger to extravagance. Her lavish Florida mansion has used 24.6 million litres of water over the past two years, according to local media.
Her Taking Chances world tour arrives in Australia next March. |
